The Titan Cup: Taranis Tussle Kicks Off Elite Dangerous Racing Series

The Titan Cup, a brand-new racing series in Elite Dangerous, has launched with its first event—the Taranis Tussle. Organized by the Elite Racers, this cup commemorates humanity’s victory over the Thargoid Titan fleet, marking the end of the Second Thargoid War.

With eight adrenaline-pumping events, including both ship and SRV races, the series promises to bring excitement and competition to pilots across the galaxy.

Taranis Tussle Event Recap

The Taranis Tussle took place on January 25th at the Noctrach-Ihazevich Research Facility, located in the Pleiades Sector AB-W B2-4. Pilots arrived at 18:00 UTC to compete in a challenging SRV cross race. The track featured difficult terrain that tested both the skill and endurance of racers.

Despite some technical setbacks, such as low frame rates and instancing issues, the event ran smoothly thanks to excellent organization. Seasoned racers supported newer participants, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the experience. This strong sense of community and teamwork made the event a huge success.

What is The Titan Cup?

The Titan Cup is a series of eight racing events designed to challenge commanders on both land and in space. Races are held at iconic locations tied to Thargoid lore and recent battles, adding an extra layer of immersion for competitors and spectators alike.

Upcoming Titan Cup Events

Here’s the schedule for the rest of the Titan Cup series:

• 15 February – The Oracle (Ship Race)
  Located in the Delphi system, this event will focus on ship-based racing near the famous megaship The Oracle, known for its role in Thargoid research and defense.

• 8 March – Wregoe Battlefield (SRV Race)
  This race takes place at the Wregoe system, a former battleground in the Thargoid War. Expect a high-stakes SRV course in a war-torn landscape.

• 29 March – HIP 22460 (Double Event: Ship & SRV)
  At the heart of the Thargoid conflict, HIP 22460 will host both ship and SRV events. Commanders will navigate intense courses filled with the remnants of past battles.

• 19 April – Phoenix Base (Ship Race)
  Racers will compete near Phoenix Base, a key installation in anti-Thargoid operations. Precision piloting will be essential for success here.

• TBD May – Thargoid Spire Site (Double Event: Ship & SRV)
  The finale will be held at a Thargoid Spire site, a mysterious alien structure. Racers will face both SRV and ship challenges in an area steeped in mystery and danger.
